Both mountings are complete with suitable cradles and

Dobsonian Telescopes
Round aluminium tubes as per the catalogue illustration are used
with our 6", 8", 10" & 12" models
thereafter either the same, rolled aluminium tubes, square wooden
skeleton tubes, square welded aluminium tubes or round section
welded aluminium tubes for future fitting to an equatorial
mounting. The square welded aluminium tubes are made from 1/4"
thick aluminium angle section and are fitted with thin plywood
light baffles around both mirrors. This makes a very
rigid, strong structure and comes highly recommended.

Our own design Adjustable Guidescope Brackets to fit onto your tube and carry a suitable Guidescope. These will allow several degrees movement in any direction by using a fine screw adjustment. This will enable you to lock onto a guide star without moving your main telescope. We can also supply a suitable guidescope with a very lightweight tube. Remember you need to guide with a magnification five times that of your main telescope focal length in inches. If not, movement will record on the film before you can detect it in the guidescope. In other words your guidescope should be adequate.

Sidereal Clocks
An observatory style, microprocessor controlled, dual mode
SIDEREAL/UNIVERSAL CLOCK showing HOURS:MINUTES:SECONDS.
This unit keeps track of both universal and sidereal time and the
display can be switched between the two making the clock
invaluable in the observatory. The display is most
effective in the dark with its switchable backlight making it
readable over 30 feet away. The clock features quartz
accuracy and possesses the other observatory requirement - that
of a metronome facility which beeps, if required every second
with a longer beep on the minute.
The unit requires a 12v supply and has a 9v PP3 backup battery so the clock can keep running whatever the supplies are doing. It can run over 50 hours on backup battery making field portability a real option. The maintained times deviate from each other by less than 1.89s per year and are calibrated to 1ppm. Time SET is relatively easy and protected against accidental pressing of buttons. The /EXT version has an additional mains input designed for continuous running and alleviates the need for an external 12v supply.

Astropip -
Metronomes
Ideal for use in the dark for providing accurate audible time
pips at remote sites. They give a 'pip' every second with a
longer 'beep' on the minute. Synchronise the time with GMT and it
will keep within 0.1s per hour. The AP2000 has in addition
a backlit display which shows elapsed time which can be frozen at
an event. Ideal for recording occultation timings, the
timing of astro photographs or for use in the photographic
